SLANG

About

Slang’s motto is never to stop at the barriers between styles. Since 1999, the band has created its music by drawing indifferently from jazz, rock and music from all over the world, so that each track is a unique cocktail. Their inspiration leads them to sketch a world as we find it every day: mixed.

Born at the dawn of the new millennium, Slang skims the subtleties of the last century to construct a resolutely modern, adventurous and exciting language. By crossing the multicultural prism of the so-called ‘ethnic’ music, the pieces of the group choose not to choose, avoiding carefully to be locked in a strait too narrow, too rigid. That, the music of Slang would not take it, because it is from this ingenuous decision that is born the innovation.

In this centrifuge of the senses, the heart of the atom, jazz, settles down to accelerate the fusion, to infuse the energetic and vital drive, the soul of this music without anchorage … Led by François Garny, Manuel Hermia and Michel Seba, all three unleashed, Slang rolls in all directions, swallows the bitumen without ever braking, voluntarily borrowing steep paths, dangerous paths.
