Since spring 2024, five album releases have followed one another: the third opus of the Orchestra Nazionale della Luna (Selene’s View, BMC/Igloo), followed by The Lotus Path, a duo with Christine Ott on the Ondes Martenot. Darrifourcq–Hermia–Ceccaldi. Early in 2025 came the brand-new trio Tassin–Hermia–Joris with Midnight Sun, then the global music duo Hermia–Leleux with Metanoia, before closing the spring with Unicorn and Flexibility, the third album from the energetic trio
The Theory of Rajazz
At the same time, I was able to carry out two years of research on The Theory of Rajazz: a Musical Geometry, thanks to funding received from the Fonds pour la Recherche en Arts, an artistic branch of the FNRS (the Belgian equivalent of the CNRS). The theory was first presented to other composers in October 2024, together with a call for scores. The final presentation of the Theory of Rajazz takes place this autumn, in 2025.
First, with the release of the final PDF (free) and the printed book ( available ).
Then, with the presentation of a concert featuring several works based on Rajazz, live at the Espace Senghor in Brussels on 22 October at 8pm, as well as the conference to be held at the Royal Conservatoire of Brussels on 18 November at 5pm. Other conferences will take place in various locations in the months to follow.
Two digital series are also planned:
First, the One Night Stands series, starting in December 2025, will present totally improvised musical encounters, live or in the studio, the idea being to capture the first hour of these exchanges with no prior preparation. Absolute freshness. Listening and presence. Risk and freedom. The encounter with the other and what it awakens within oneself.
Then, a digital series called Rajazz Series will be released in autumn 2026. This time, the use of the theory of Rajazz in its different forms will serve as the guiding thread, across a great variety of styles and instruments. Here, composition will share the space with improvisation.
Three to four episodes a year are planned for each of the two series, most often in digital format only.
These two series stem from the desire to develop new artistic and human relationships as diverse as possible, without each encounter necessarily becoming a long-term project, but through a dynamic that generates collective energy by linking together the personalities who take part.
